Nick is the pastor and head of staff for Ohio United Presbyterian Church. Nick has been joyfully serving the church since he was ordained in September 2013. Nick is originally from the great state of Michigan, where he grew up believing that all large bodies of water were crystal clear and not filled with salt. After graduating from high school, he traveled west to attend college at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA where he received a BS in Environmental Science. After graduating from WWU, Nick married Kortney, his high school sweetheart and they moved west together, seeking a grand adventure. After a stint as a park ranger at Cape Disappointment State Park in Southwest Washington, Nick felt called into ministry and this feeling was affirmed by his church family at Ocean Beach Presbyterian Church. After completing his MDiv at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, Nick was called by Ohio Church to lead the congregation as its pastor. Nick's passion is to accompany folks who are honestly seeking to grow in the knowledge and love of God, who desire to live the abundant and joyful life God promises us, and who are up for the adventure of a lifetime.
Nick enjoys all things outdoors--running, biking, kayaking, frisbee--a good book, brewed beverages of all variety, gardening, fresh seasonal food and chasing his 3 crazy kids. Nick and Kortney have 3 girls--Maren, Peyton and Isabella--who are full of energy, joy and curiosity and keep us tired. They are wonderful adventuring companions.
Judi joined the Ohio UP staff in August of 2009. She's been married for almost 40 years to her husband, Steve, and has 3 grown sons, Bryan, Eric and Scott. Her parrot, Pickle, occasionally joins her at work so if you hear "Hey, Baby!", it is likely the bird, and not Judi!
When Judi isn't working, she leads a quilting ministry at a local church and spends lots of time camping and horseback riding with her family. She also loves to bake, and occasionally brings in goodies to share in the church office. She feels very blessed to serve the congregation of Ohio UP Church for so long and looks forward to several more years of service.
My name is Shirley Fluharty. I was 13 years old when I was asked to play the Organ and Piano at New Bethlehem UP Church. At present I am the Organist and Handbell Choir Director here at Ohio UP and have been here since 1969. I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. I have taught piano lessons for many years. In my free time I love crocheting, bowling, collecting cookbooks, wolves and candles. I love to keep busy!
Scott & Sharon recently joined the Ohio UP staff as our custodians. They keep the church looking its best!
We are pleased to welcome Allison Martin Feszko to the staff at Ohio UP Church.
Allison (Martin) Feszko is the Pianist/Worship leader here at church. She began studying piano privately at the age of six. She then went on to study music at the collegiate level earning a degree in Music Therapy with emphasis on classical piano. Allison has been a life long member of our congregation and is so honored to be serving through music. In addition to serving at church, Allison is a board certified music therapist at the Watson Institute in Sewickley. She also has a great passion for teaching piano.
When not making music, Allison loves to be outside, baking, spending time with family and playing with her dog Lucy and cat Linus.
