Ministry leader: Nancy Lucas

The vision of the Garden of Knowledge Children’s Library is to instill a love of God through reading and lifelong learning at each stage of growth and development with children in the congregation as well as the Hopewell community through offering faith-based literature to borrow, regular story times, and activities for children ages birth to 12.

Due to the closing of many family Christian bookstores, the Ohio United Presbyterian Church has recognized the need to connect parents and children with quality faith related books. After just one year we’re excited to offer families the chance to check out any of 300+ books about Bible stories and Christian values thanks to the generosity of our Ohio UP Church family and funds budgeted. These may be checked out Sunday mornings and during the weekly story time. If you’d like to stop by on another day, please contact the church office and we’ll be glad to make that happen.

The weekly story time for children 5 and under, staffed by 5 volunteers, encourages parent/child instruction through a Bible story time followed by songs, crafts, various sensory bins, creative play, and activities to enhance gross and fine motor skills. We’d love to have you join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 from mid September to mid May.

We also occasionally have special family activities that include a Bible story. Watch our website for those or call the church office @ 724-378-3690.
