All women members of Ohio UP Church are considered members of the Women’s Association. The association runs solely on donations and faith.
What we Do:
Bible Study – There are two bible study groups. Ruth Circle that meets during day and Deborah Circle that meets in the evening. Periodically these Circles sponsor a get-together for a luncheon, tea, dinner or some other social event.
Dinners – There are two all-church dinners, one in the spring and one in the fall. The Dinner Team plans the menu, shops, set ups, decorates, prepares the food, serves, cleans up and provides entertainment. A Free Will Offering helps offset the cost.
Christmas Wish Tree -At Christmas time we collect presents for local children in need for the Salvation Army and the Hopewell Jr High National Honor Society.
Surprises for Shut-ins – At Christmas time we collect for the Beaver County Office on Aging. These gifts are delivered to residents in need in Beaver County.
Shower – In March we collect supplies for a local mission that accept donations for women and children in our community.
Beaver Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center – Two times a year we arrange a trip to visit, play games, and socialize with the residents.
Advent Decoration – At Christmas time the sanctuary is decorated by the congregation with the guidance of the Women’s Association.
Funeral Dinner – In the event that a member of our church family or their immediate family dies, the family is contacted to see if they would like to have a luncheon after the funeral service. Often church members donate side dishes and desserts for the meal. This is provided at no cost to the family, although a donation to the Women’s Association to offset the cost of the food and supplies is
Appreciated.
College Care Packages – Once a year we collect donations from the congregation to send to our college students.
Women’s Retreat – Once a year the ladies plan a retreat to spend some time in prayer, bible study and fellowship.
